Again nothing new really going on. I got my family room, living room, and dining room painted when I was home last week. We went with a color called Dry Earth by Valspar (Lowes). I LOVE that brand of paint! It cover's very nicely (not Kilz's needed) - basically a one coat type of paint. It also doesn't scratch very easily like Home Depot's paint.
Well the condo got completed... what a mess. Missy and crew moved out 3/1. They were suppose to be out 2/28. Missy had said that they would be out by noon on 3/1. That so didn't happen. They were finally out by about 4pm. We got in there around 3pm and started painting the master bedroom and master bath. Carl bought a paint sprayer. It worked but it was messy. We worked most of that Sunday til about 6pm... then the following Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Friday again... My mom came for Friday, Saturday, Wednesday, Carl came Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Rebecca finished it up with a final cleaning Thursday... The place was GROSS. We basically had to scrub EVERY room (walls, floors, fan's, ceiling, windows, etc). We had to touch up paint in other places. The hardwood floors were BAD! We have no idea what was used to clean them but Home Depot told us that we would have to refinish them... we just decided to get down on our hands and knee's and take a wallpaper scrapper to scrap the crap off the floor. We think they used wax to clean a already poly floor. We did all this in 2 weeks and with me traveling both of those 2 weeks. The new tenants moved in on 3/14.
I have decided to go with a management company this time around since I don't know the people. The management company collects rent for me, takes care of maintenance, and also will take the ppl to rent court if the people don't pay. They do a background search, credit check, tenant past, etc. They don't cost me a lot of money and seem really nice! We'll see how it work's out.
My dad had a freak accident happen to him while this whole condo this was going on. He was having cataract surgery on his eye. He has his one eye done and it was great. So 2 weeks later he went to have the other one done. He has diabetes and had high pressure in his eye. They got the lens in but he couldn't really see out of his eye. He went back for his weekly checkup. They drained his eye. He could see. He woke up the next morning and could not see at all out of that eye. He went back to the dr that morning and the dr sent him to a retina dr. The retina sent him to the OR asap. He got surgery that afternoon. He said that the eye had a virus in it and he had to suck out the virus and send it to labs to see what it was. He also gave my dad a super dose to antibiotics in his eye. This was almost 2 weeks ago. The retina dr saw him every day until last week. Almost a week straight. Great dr!! Dad can see colors and shapes now. He is doing much better. He's not completely healed yet thou.

NO we aren't getting a puppy! :)
